♦ In 1992, following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the local Donetsk-based division of Aeroflot was reorganised into an independent Ukrainian state-owned operator known as Donetsk Aviation Enterprise. Donbassaero was then formed as Donetsk State Airline on 30Jun1993. In the mid 1990s, Donetsk State Airline was officially spun off as a standalone state-owned flight operator. The carrier was then renamed to Donbass – Eastern Ukrainian Airlines in the late 1990s, expanding branding to position the carrier as the primary regional airline for the broader Donbas industrial area. In 2003, it was renamed again, to Donbassaero, its final reorganisation and modern rebrand. Joined the Ukrainian Aviation Group alliance (alongside Aerosvit and Dniproavia) before filing for bankruptcy in Jan2013 ♦
