CLTM was a subsidiary of Bellomy-Lawson Aviation of Miami, FL, set up in the Netherland Antilles with the aim of conducting air cargo operations within the Caribbean. On 30Dec1971, CLTM applied to the US CAB for a permit to conduct charter cargo flights between the Netherlands Antilles and San Juan, PR & Miami, FL. Despite protests by Pan Am and ALM Dutch Antillean Airlines that CLTM was only a screen company for Bellomy-Lawson, and that its proposed 4-weekly charter cargo flight to the US would be similar to scheduled operations. The carrier was renamed to Air Caribbean in 1991
< originally a non-scheduled cargo airline but morphed into a regional carrier >
