Zega Air

♦ Zega Air stems from the Zambia Export Growers Association (ZEGA), a non-profit organization formed in 1984 to support Zambia’s export horticulture industry (primarily flowers, vegetables, and fresh produce). In the late 1990s (around 1999), ZEGA appealed to the Zambian government for an air service permit to enable air freight for perishable exports. Thr company entered into contracts with large cargo airlines, such as Cargolux, British Airways (cargo division), and MK Air, to secure dedicated freight capacity. Unsure if classed as an airline ♦
