The Nigerian government set a deadline of 30Apr2007 for all airlines operating in the country to re-capitalise or be grounded, in an effort to ensure better services and safety. Seven airlines failed to meet the deadline and as a result, Express Airways Nigeria (Skypower Express Airways) was not to allowed fly in Nigeria’s airspace

[ – Sky Power Express was initially conceived in 1982 by Capt Mohammed Joji when he was contacted in the United Kingdom by the Nigeria Authority to carry out a study of the problem of Mail delivery system in Nigeria. The carrier was initially incorporated as Express Airways Nigeria Limited on the 19Jul1985. The carrier ceased operations on 30Apr2007 due to Government rules but appears to restarted as Sky Power Express
