♦ Prinair was founded in 1964 as Aerolíneas de Ponce (Ponce Air), which began operations in 1966. The following year, the airline’s name was changed to Puerto Rico International Airlines or, simply, Prinair. Measure of distrust from the public that had not forgotten a number of fatal crashes, caused Prinair to cease operations in 1985 ♦
