Latavio (Latvian Airlines) was an airline based in Riga International Airport (RIX), Riga. It was founded in 1992, as Latvian Airlines after emerging from Aeroflot. This had been the local Latvian branch of Aeroflot and provided air transportation during the time when Lavia was a part of Soviet Union. After the dissolution of Soviet Union in 1991, Latvian Airlines become a separate company and was renamed to Latavio in 1992. Latavio was declared insolvent in Oct1995 and was liquidated
