Yangtze River Express was formed on 15Jan2003 to take over the cargo operations of the airlines of its parent HNA Group and create a cargo hub from Shanghai. Operations started on 22Jan2003 and was rebranded to Yangtze River Airlines after launching passenger services on 15Dec2015. Yangtze River Airlines officially rebranded itself as Suparna Airlines effective 07Jul2017
