WEST AIR SWEDEN was founded in 1955 as LBF-EDA VARKEN operating taxi flights. Renamed to ABAL AIR in 1982. The name was changed to TIME AIR SWEDEN in 1990 and current name in 1992. Converted to a cargo airline in 1997. West Atlantic Cargo Airlines was formed through a merger of West Air Sweden, West Air Europe and Atlantic Airlines (UK) Founded as LBF-Eda Varken, operating air-taxi flights / airline’s name was changed to Abal Air AB in 1982 and to West Air Sweden in 1992. West Air Sweden converted to a cargo airline in May1997 after discontinuing its scheduled passenger services. The merger in Oct2008, with Atlantic Airlines and West Air Luxembourg to form West Atlantic, created Europe’s largest all-cargo regional carrier
