Vayudoot

Vayudoot was founded on 20Jan1981 & began operations on 26Jan1981. Ceased operations on 01Apr1997. It was founded to connect locations not served by Indian Airlines. Vayudoot’s financial performance was not satisfactory which finally led to its dissolution and merger of its assets into Indian Airlines – Scheduled services
– [INDIAN AIRLINES (Corporation) was formed in 1953 on the nationalisation of 8 Indian airlines (DECCAN AIRWAYS, AIRWAYS-INDIA, BHARAT AIRWAYS, HIMALAYAN AVIATION, KALINGA AIR LINES, INDIAN NATIONAL AIRWAYS, AIR INDIA and AIR SERVICES of INDIA. Took over VAYUDOOT in 1998. Renamed to just INDIAN in 2005 & merged into AIR INDIA on 26Feb2011]
