Ukrvozdukhput was established on 01/Jun/1923 and began operating on 15/Apr/1925 when it offered service from Kharkiv to Odessa and Kiev. It was the second scheduled airline ever in the Soviet Union. Ukrvozdukhput was the second scheduled airline ever in the Soviet Union (after Deruluft). The Soviet central government’s “Five-Year Plan” called for all air service in the Soviet Union to be controlled by one government agency. In 1929, Ukvozduchput was absorbed into the newly formed national airline Dobrolet (along with the other Soviet operators — Zakavia and Deruluft)
[ – Aeroflot Russian Airlines was formed as Dobrolyot (Dobrolet) in 1923 but changed to Dobroflot after absorbing the Ukranian company Ukrvozdukhput. In 1932 all civil aviation activities were reorganised as Grazdansij Wozdusnyi Flot, simply known as AEROFLOT. Joined by POLAR AVIATION DIVISION in 1964. AEROFLOT was the largest airline in the world in 1989. Reorganised and renamed to AEROFLOT RUSSIAN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES on 28/Jul/1992 and later dropped the ‘INTERNATIONAL’
