Transkei Airways Corporation (TAC), the original national airline of the Republic of Transkei, was formed in 1976 and operated scheduled passenger services linking the capital, Umtata, with Johannesburg, Durban and East London in South Africa. The company also provided domestic services to Lusikisiki, Mkambati Game Reserve, and the Myamba Casino. Renamed to Eastern Air in 1995
