Hummingbird Island Airways was a regional airline based at Male International (MLE) [Trans Maldivian Airways was founded as Hummingbird Island Helicopters in 1989 & commenced services on 30Jun1989 using a fleet of helicopters. Started fixed wing operations in 1997 when it was renamed to Hummingbird Island Airways. Renamed again in 2001 to Trans Maldivian Airways. Had Maldivian Air Taxi merge in in 2001
