[ – SilkAir was founded in 1975 as Tradewinds Charters. Scheduled services were introduced as Tradewinds Airlines on 21Feb1989. Renamed on 01Apr1992 to present name. Singapore Airlines’ regional arm, SilkAir, has undergone a significant upgrading of its cabin products as part of plans to eventually merge with Singapore Airlines (SIA). The last flight as SilkAir was on 26May2021 to Kathmandu

[ – MAS (Malaysia Airways) was formed as Malayan Airways in 1937 and commenced operations in 1947. Renamed to Malaysian Airlines in 1963 after the new state of Malaysia was formed. The airline was then renamed to MSA (Malaysia-Singapore Airlines) in 1967 and restructured into the 2 separate airlines. MAS being one and SIA being the other. SIA was established on 28Jan1972 and operations started 01Oct1972. Launch customer for the long range A340-300 in 1996.
