[UNITED AIR LINES was formed as a holding company for UNITED AIRCRAFT & TRANSPORT. This was a merger of BOEING AIR TRANSPORT , PACIFIC AIR TRANSPORT , NATIONAL AIR TRANSPORT and VARNEY AIR LINES.
