Ruy Vacani founded the airline TCA (Transportes Carga Aérea) in Anápolis, State of Goiás, Brazil, an airline specialised in transportation of cargo on 22/Dec/1947

[ – On 24/Aug/1949 TCA merged with LAP (Linhas Aereas Paulistas) + TABA (Transportes Aereos Bandeirantes) and had its name changed to Lóide Aéreo Nacional and started regular passenger flights using Curtiss C-46 Commando aircraft, flying from Rio de Janeiro to São Luís or Fortaleza with intermediate stops. [ – VASP was founded on 04/Nov/1933 by the State of Sao Paulo and operations began on 16/Apr/1934. In 1939, VASP bought Aerolloyd Iguassu. In 1962, NAB merged and in the same year, VASP became a national airline when it acquired Lóide Aéreo Nacional, and with it its license to operate nationwide. Threat of grounding by Brazilian CAA in 2004. Scheduled services suspended in early 2005 and by Dec2007, the once-proud company had stopped flying altogether
