Tara Helicopter Services was established in Mar1994 as Tara Airlines with approved Air Operator Certificate from Islamic Republic of Iran Civil Aviation Authority. Tara Airlines started its air operation with one Yak-42 jet airline in the same year. In 1995 Tara changed its operation to helicopter operation with one Kamov (Ka-32A) helicopter and became the first private Helicopter Company in Iran, changing its name to Tara Helicopter Services Company.
