– [LAP was established in 1963 by the Paraguayan Military Aviation & was officially founded by the government through the Decree Nr.337 of 18Mar1963. It started operations on 20Aug1963 as LAP (Líneas Aéreas Paraguayas). On 01Sep1996, ARPA purchased 80% of the shares of the former state-owned LAP & both airlines were merged under the name TAM – Transportes Aéreos del Mercosur. In 2008, it was renamed to TAM Airlines. Finally renamed to LATAM Paraguay in 2016]
