Syndicato Condor

Syndicato Condor was founded on 01Dec1927 & recognised by the Brazilian Government 20Jan1928. Renamed to Servicos Aeros Condor in Mar1941 [CRUZEIRO was formed as SYNDICATO CONDOR in 1927 as a subsiduary of Deutsche Luft Hansa. The name was changed in 1941 to SERVICOS AEREOS CONDOR and to last name in 1943 following the severence of all German control] [VARIG-VRG was formed by the GOL obtaining a cotrolling stake in a failing Varig. VARIG was founded by a German immigrant (Otto Ernst Meyer). The airline expanded by the acquisition of AERO GERAL in 1951. Acquired REAL Consortium in 1961 making it largest airline in South America. Acquired CRUZEIRO do SUL in 1975. Ceased operating late 2006 but restarted in 2007]
