British Eagle International Airlines logo USED♦ Starways was formed at Blackpool on 07Dec1948 by two pilots, Captain Noel Rodnight and Captain Albert Dean, to operate a charter service using a Percival Petrel for celebrities appearing in the Blackpool shows. The company started operations from Blackpool Airport in Jan1949 with the Petrel and then the operations moved to Speke Airport. In Nov1963, Starways negotiated a co-operative agreement with British Eagle. The final Starways flight landed at Liverpool on 31Dec1963, thereafter British Eagle took over all routes ♦
