The origins of SpiceJet can be tracked back to Mar1984 when the company was established by Indian industrialist S. K. Modi as MG Express to provide private air taxi services. On 17Feb1993, the company was named as Modiluft which started operations on 02May1993. Renamed once again to Royal Airways. SpiceJet was renamed from Royal Airways on 04May2005 It commenced operations on 24May2005 & International services were launched on 07Oct2010
