
Southern Australian Airlines was founded in 1981 as a regional carrier for Victoria, South Australia known as SUNSTATE AIRLIES, based in Mildura. All activities merged into Qantas in 2002
– [QANTAS started as a charter company known as QUEENSLAND and NORTHERN TERRITORIES AERIAL SERVICES on 16Nov1920 & began scheduled flights on 02Nov1922. In Dec1934 it was renamed to QANTAS EMPIRE AIRWAYS and to current name in 1967. Purchased BRITISH COMMONWEALTH PACIFIC AIRLINES in 1954 and AUSTRALIAN AIRLINES (fomerly TAA) in 1982.
