South Central Air was founded in 1967 by Harold and Irene Andersen at Kenai, Alaska flying passengers and cargo to surrounding locales over the next 15 years. The company was than sold to David Diamond in early 1981 and was reformed to provide scheduled passenger and cargo flights to destinations throughout the south central portion of the state, especially the Kenai Peninsula. In Oct1983, the company was purchased by Kenai Air Alaska, which operated it as a subsidiary.
