Samara Airlines was established in 1961 as Kuybeshev Aviation Enterprise and was renamed to KuAO (Kuybeshev Joint Aviation Squadron). It was renamed to Samara Airlines after privatisation in 1993. Vak-Rosat Airline was merged in in 1996 and AeroVolga in 1998. The carrier ceased operations on 28Sep2008
