S7 Airlines was formed as Tolmachevo State Aviation Enterprise, former Aeroflot division in May1957. Renamed to Siberia Airlines on 15May1992, a state-run airline was created based on the squadron in 1992 and later privatised in 1994. In 2001 Siberia Airlines had an insolvent Vnukovo Airlines merge in and also absorbed Baikal Airlines and then in 2004, the airline absorbed Chelyabinsk Airlines and Enkor. Rebranded as S7 Airlines on 15Mar2005. The airline had its daughter company, Globus Airlines merge in Dec2019
