Rotterdam Airlines was organised in early 1977 at Zestienhoven Airport, Rotterdam. The charter operation was owned by the city’s travel agents, Christoffel. The company initiated nonscheduled flights to various European destinations, including London (LGW). Late in 1983, the carrier leased a B-737-200, christening it the Delf-shaven, and used it to inaugurate scheduled services to London (LGW), following this early in 1984 with a service from Rotterdam to Innsbruck. Having chosen a time of recession in which to expand, the carrier is unable to generate sufficient traffic to cover costs and suspends services. Although company officials announce plans to reorganize and restart operations with leased DC-8s, these are not realized
