Progressive Airways was a Norwich based carrier that was renamed from Tyler Aviation. Tyler Aviation was purchased by RC Peck and with the acquisition of the company, it was announced that Progressive Airways would start operating scheduled services on 04Jan1971. At that time, Progressive had requested a whole series of new scheduled services such as Amsterdam – Norwich – East Midlands – Birmingham, Norwich to Jersey and Guernsey (via Cambridge) and Norwich – Stavanger. As of 01Jan1971, only the Norwich – East Midlands – Birmingham service and the connection between Norwich and the Channel Islands were authorised. Progressive ceased operations on 09Apr1971, the company had no funding to cover the purchase of the Vickers Viscount and the start-up costs, and was declared bankrupt in May1971
