OpenSkies was BA’s premier class subsidiary airline that started operations on 19Jun2008. It acquired L’AVION in 2008. International scheduled services out of Paris Orly. History Developed as Project Lauren to take advantage of the new EU-US open skies agreement. Following the takeover of L’Avion and the merger with OpenSkies in Aug2008, the airline began operating under Elysair’s air operator’s certificate in Aug2009. Elysair adopted the OpenSkies brand at the end of Aug2009. Launched services from Paris Orly to Washington Dulles International Airport on 03May2010, but in Sep2011 announced their suspension, from 29Oct2011. The carrier stopped operating flights under the OpenSkies brand on 02Sep2018 and its staff were transferred to LEVEL. OpenSkies was eventually shut down in Jul2020
