Namakwaland Lugdiens (Namaqualand Air Services)

♦ Namakwaland Lugdiens (Edms) was formed in 1961 as a subsidiary company of Jowells Transport to provide a scheduled air service between Springbok and Cape Town and to provide a charter air service with Springbok as base. Services started in Jan1961. National Airlines merged into Namakwaland Lugdiens (Edms) in the late 1980s. (Namakwaland Ludgiens (Edms)began operating a twice-weekly service in 1961 between Capetown and Springbok in the Cape Province) ♦

♦ NAC (National Airways Corporation) was established in 1946 and started operations on 25May1946 as National Air Charters. Acquired WING AIRWAYS and combined with NAMAKWALAND LUGDIENS at the beginning of 1986. United Air Services was renamed from Transvaal Air Charters & merged into NAC in 1962. NAC took over Pacair in 1970 (International and regional charter services out of Lanseria International) ♦
