Mokulele Airlines Was founded in 1994 by Rebecca Kawehi Inaba as Mokulele Flight Service, and was the first airline in Hawaii to be founded by a Native Hawaiian woman. Acquired by Boyer Industries in Oct2005 and rebranded as Mokulele Airlines the following month. Acquired by Southern Airways Express (SAE) in Feb2019 but continued under same name. Makani Kai Air (Honolulu) and Mokulele Airlines (MW, Kona) announced on 03Jun2020 that they will merge their operations and operate under the singular Mokulele Airlines brand when Hawaiian interisland flights resume on 15Jun2020
