♦ President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that the active and retired workers of Mexicana de Aviación have already accepted that the brand of this airline can be delivered to the new airline run by the Mexican Army, in exchange for a reward that will be set after the appraisal of the brand that is already carried out. On 18May2023, the Mexican Secretariat of Finance and Credit Public approved the creation of a new state carrier. After the uncertainty about the salaries of some Mexicana de Aviación workers due to the sale of the airline to the Mexican Government, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that a new name, Aerolíneas Maya may be used instead. The carrier has delayed its start until the end of 2023 ♦
