Manx Airlines (ii) Manx Airlines was founded in 1982 and was a joint venture of British Midland Airways (BMA) and British & Commonwealth, the parent company of AirUK. The company took over a number of routes from BMA and AirUK and started flying in Nov1982. It established Manx Airlines (Europe) in 1991 (…>>flybe). In 2001 the group is bought by British Airways. A subsequent reorganisation within British Airways led to the formation of British Airways CitiExpress, which is a merger of British Regional Airlines, Manx Airlines (Europe) and Brymon Airways . Manx Airlines disappeared as a result of this operation; the last flight of the company took place on 31Aug2002
