Mango

Mango was launched on 30/Oct/2006 and operated its first service on 15/Nov/2006. The carrier is to be mothballed from 01/May/2021 until such time it receives funding from the South African state. The flight operations of Mango Airlines, the cash-strapped low-cost local carrier, were suspended on 28/Apr/2021, leaving many passengers stranded at various airports in South Africa. Mango continued to operate as normal on 01/May/2021. Mango Airlines suspended all its flights from 27/Jul/2021, until further notice due to outstanding payments to South Africa’s Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) company. Mango Airlines was grounded for another two years in Aug2022, because South Africa’s Air Services Licensing Council has suspended its licenses for the same period, effective immediately, on regulatory grounds
