LuxAir was from the reorganisation of Luxembourg Airlines (founded in 1948)

[ – Luxair Luxembourg Airlines was incorporated on 09Jan1948 as Luxembourg Airlines. It was reorganised in 1961 and changed its name to Luxair Societe Luxembourgeoise de Navigation Aerienne. Started operations on 04Apr1962. It had Luxair Commuter merge in in 1997
