Lesotho Airways Ltd was formed in 1967 as the national carrier of Lesotho (formerly Basutoland) by the South African operator Commercial Airways (formerly Commercial Air Services). It began operating on 02Oct1967 as a once-weekly service from Maseru, the capital, to Johannesburg under charter to the Lesotho Government using Commercial aircraft and crews.
