♦ Korean National Airlines was formed in 1946. It was privately owned by its Founding Chairman, Captain Shin Yong-Wook and flew its first official passenger flight from Seoul to Pusan on 30Oct1948. All its aircraft were seized by the Government in 1950 when North Korea invaded. The airline resumed services in 1952. In Jun1962, government of the Republic of Korea acquired Korean National Airlines, and changed its name to Korean Air Lines to become a state-owned airline. The Hanjin Group acquired the state-owned airline on 01Mar1969 and renamed it to Korean Air
