
Kendell Airlines was founded in 1967 as Premiair Aviation by Don Kendell as a charter airline. Renamed to current name in 1971 which coincided with the launch of scheduled services using Piper PA-31 Navajo aircraft between Wagga Wagga and Melbourne. Took over the southern routes of South Australia Airways in 1996. Merged with Hazelton Airlines in 2002 to form Rex

On 30Nov2005, Rex announced the acquisition of the Dubbo-based Air Link, another regional airline that continues under its own name
