Qantas’s Jetstar was founded in 2003 as a lo-cost subsidiary and commenced domestic operations on 25May2004. Qantas’s entry into low-cost market was achieved by purchasing Impulse Airlines on 20Nov2001 and relaunching it under current name. Domestic passenger services began on 25May2004. In July 2006, Jetstar and Jetstar Asia were brought together under the Jetstar brand. Online bookings for both carriers were integrated into Jetstar.com.
