Hapag-Lloyd Express was formed in 2002 as a low cost carrier formed by German tour operator TUI and Germania to serve European and domestic routes as from late 2002. In Jan2007, it was merged into TUIfly with Hapagfly
– [TUI fly Deutschland was launced as SudwestFlug in 1965. TUIfly was renamed from merger of HAPAGFLY and HAPAG-LLOYD EXPRESS after the TUI takeover. This in turn had been rebranded from HAPAG-LLOYD, which had merged with BAVARIA-GERMANAIR in 1979 and retained name. Yet again rebranded, this time as TUI fly Deutschland in 2015]
