Guinea Air Traders

♦ Guinea Air Traders was founded in Oct1946 in Lae by brothers John and Samuel Jamieson. GAT commenced operations at Lae in Feb1947 with Ansons carrying freight on contract to Bulolo Gold Dredging Co, as well as general freight and passenger charters, later flying scheduled services from Lae to Madang, Wewak, Aitape, Wau, Bulolo and Mount Hagen. Taylor’s Air Transport was taken over by Guinea Air Traders in 1940. The carrier entered bankruptcy and ceased operations in early 1950
