FlyNordic was originally established as Reguljair in 1996, the airline operated domestic services. Its operating licence was revoked on 14Nov2000, and it relaunched in Dec2000 as Nordic East. Finnair acquired the company in 2003, establishing a new subsidiary, Nordic Airlink Holding, and rebranding the carrier as FlyNordic. In 2007 the airline was bought by Norwegian Air Shuttle and became a fully integrated part of the latter on on 05/Apr/2008

The name was changed back to Busy Bee in 1980 until being renamed to Norwegian Air Shuttle in 1993. The current name was adopted to concentrate on low-cost operations. Acquired FlyNordic in 2007 and integrated the airline in in 2008
