Flagship Airlines was established on 30Dec1987 as Nashville Eagle which had acquired assets of AVAir and Air Midwest. It began operations on 01Jan1988 over the former Air Midwest routes to 16 cities [AMERICAN EAGLE was initially operating as an inter-island network from San Juan known as EXECUTIVE AIR CHARTER. Renamed to EXECUTIVE AIRLINES 3 and then amalgamated with FLAGSHIP AIRLINES, SIMMONS AIRLINES and WINGS WEST to form AMERICAN EAGLE in 1984. Now fully owned by AMR Eagle and renamed. Acquired BUSINESS EXPRESS in 2000]
