Fastjet was founded in 2011 as Fly540 Tanzania, but through the acquisition of Fly540 on 13Oct2012, it was rebranded as Fastjet Tanzania. Fastjet operated its first revenue service from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza on 29Nov2012. fastjet Tanzania had suspended all flight operations until the end of Jan2019 after the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) ordered it to cease ticket sales and submit a suitable turnaround plan within 28 days. Unfortunately Fastjet will be required to apply for a new Air Services Permit (ASP) after its original one expired on 03Jan2019. As of Feb2019, Fastjet Tanzania no longer has licenses for flight operations
