♦ CSA was originally founded as Czechoslovak State Airlines on 06Oct1923 by a decree of the Ministry of Public Works and commenced operations on 29Oct1923. After the Division of the Country in 1939, the airline was closed down. From 1942 to 1945 it flew under the name SLAS (Slovenska Letecka Akciova Spolecnost). At the end of the war a new airline was established with the name of CSA (Ceskoslovenska Aerolinie). The carrier was then renamed to CSA (Czech Airlines) in 1995 after the division of Czechoslovakia.
