Condor Luftfreederei

The Condor Luftfreederei ownership was split between Norddeutscher Lloyd (27.75%), Hamburg America Line (27.75%), Deutsche Lufthansa (26%), and Deutsche Bundesbahn (18.5%). Deutsche Flugdienst took over its rival Condor-Luftreederei

[ – Condor was founded on 21/Dec/1955 as Deutsche Flugdiens and scheduled flight operations were launched on 29/Mar/1956 with a pilgrimage flight to Israel. On 25/Oct/1961, Deutsche Flugdienst took over its rival Condor-Luftreederei (which had been founded in 1957 by the Hamburg-based Oetker concern), subsequently changing its name to Condor Flugdienst. Integrated Südflug in in 3Q1992. In 1998, Condor Berlin was founded as a wholly owned subsidiary with headquarters at Berlin Tegel Airport and was renamed to Thomas Cook powered by Condor on 01/Mar/2003. On 23/Jan/2004, Condor became part of Thomas Cook AG and returned to the Condor brand name. Condor Berlin was integrated into the parent company on 01May2013
