[ – TAMSA was originally formed in 1932 as Compania de Transportes Aereos de Chiapas. Following the death of the founder the airline was renamed Compania Aeronautica Francisco Sarabia SA in 1939, and then to TAMSA four years later. TAMSA was taken over by Mexicana in 1960]
[ – Mexicana was founded in 1921 by William Lantie Mallory and George Rihl as Compañía Mexicana de Aviación, a competitor to CMTA. They acquired the latter’s assets in 1924. It was the world’s 4th oldest airline. Had ATSA (Aero Transportes SA) merge in in 1952 and took over TAMSA in 1960. Aero Libertad merged with Mexicana in 1992. Ceased operations on 28Aug2010
