CLASSA, constituted on 13Mar1929, commenced operations on 25Nov1929. Ceased operations in 1932 and was rebranded as LAPE on 08Apr1932

[ – IBERIA was formed on 28Jun1928 as IBERIA AIR LINES of SPAIN & operations started on 14Dec1927. In 1928 it merged with CETA and UNION AEREA ESPANOLA to form CLASSA (Compañía de Líneas Aéreas Subvencionadas). The name was changed in 1931 to LAPE (Lineas Aereas Postales Espanolas). The present name of IBERIA was adopted in 1946. Operations halted at the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 and in essence refounded at the end in 1940. Acquired AVIACO in 1999.
