City Airline was established in 1997 as a scheduled and charter regional operator out of Gothenburg Landvetter International. On 10Sep2001, it started its own regional services from Gothenburg. Ceased operations on 29Nov2011, merging into Skyways
– [Avia Express was founded in 1940 as Avia by Mr. and Mrs. Thuring in Fårösund. Activities included target towing. In 1945 the airline expanded to air taxi and mail services. Regular flights started in 1986. Merged with rival carrier Salair, owned by shipping company Salenia, on 15Jul1991 and rebranded as Skyways in 1993 after Salenia becomes the sole owner of the airline. Acquired Highland Air in Mar1997. In 2011 Skyways merged with another Manswell controlled company, the Gothenburg-based airline City Airline. Ceased operations on 22May2012]
