Cimber Air was founded on 15May2012 and commenced operations on 16May2012. In Jan2017, SAS reached an agreement with CityJet whereby CityJet bought Cimber and would continue to operate flights on behalf of SAS. Cimber was merged into CityJet in 2018

[ – CityJet was formed as Business City Direct by Patrick Byrne on 28Sep1992 and was renamed in 1993/1994. Started wirh a 5 times daily service between Dublin and London City on 12Jan1994. In 2016 Blue1 was dissolved and merged into its parent CityJet. Cimber was merged into CityJet in 2018. On 17Jul2018, Air Nostrum and CityJet of Ireland announced they would merge to form the largest regional airline in Europe, however will remain as separate brands
