Chaparral Airlines was founded by Ollie Higgins and Kent Waddell in Abilene, Texas on 17Sep1976. Chaparral had operated American Eagle service primarily from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on behalf of American Airlines before being merged into Metroflight in 1990
