Centrafrican Airlines was founded in 1998 by Ronald Desmet and Victor Bout’s Gibraltar-based SouthBound Ltd, also through San Air General Trading or Transavia Travel Agency. Most aircraft illegally registered and obtained from a corrupt official in the Central African republic CAA. AOC licence officially revoked in 2000 by Central African government. Moved operating base to rebel-controlled Ajman freezone (possibly then dba “Trans African”). Assets transferred to CET Aviation Enterprise (legally formed in UAE)
